Step 1. Initial Disinfection
The patient chews two PerioSure™ Mints, a powerful 3 in 1 product for oral health. The mints contain Sodium Bicarbonate, Cranberry extract and Xylitol. The result is a bactericidal that freshens breath and whitens teeth by removing stains. Even after being chewed, the PerioSure™ Mints keep bacteria from sticking to the gums and teeth.
Step 2. Gum Barrier Preparation
The patient rinses with the PerioRinse™, a professional strength sodium chlorite rinse, acting as a chlorine dioxide precursor to prepare the gums for full mouth disinfection.
Step 3. Full-Mouth Disinfection and Healing Support
The dentist or qualified hygienist applies the PerioGel™ containing Tea Tree Oil, Cranberry Powder Concentrate and MSM. Tea Tree Oil is legendary for its antiseptic and fungicide properties. A substance in cranberries keeps bacteria from adhering to one another and forming plaque. MSM is an anti-inflammatory that soothes the gums. The PerioGel is inserted into the gum space with a painless blunt syringe provided in the Perio-Defense ProKit. Custom fitted trays filled with gel are placed on the top and bottom teeth and left on for five minutes. This completes full mouth disinfection.
